The volatility of the dollar during 2022 has shaken the financials of the agricultural business, with mixed outcomes for the sector. For some companies, particularly in areas where a significant portion of revenues is received in dollars and most costs are in pesos, such as the fruit industry, the trend has been positive.
Rodrigo Donoso, a partner at the consulting firm Agrocapital, argues that the rise in the dollar is due to several factors. Another factor is the development of the war in Ukraine, and finally, global inflation, which is around 8% annually in the United States.
